In-Year Admissions
If you wish to apply for a place during the school year, this is known as an In-Year Admission. Although GCC is the admission authority, in-year applications must be made directly to the school.
We recommend that parents and carers contact the school office on 01452 722363 before submitting an in-year application. We are always happy to answer any questions, discuss the availability of places and arrange a visit so that families can see the school and learn more about what we offer. An initial conversation or visit is not required but can be helpful when deciding whether Beech Green Primary School is the right setting for your child.
How to Apply
Parents and carers should complete the Gloucestershire County Council In-Year Application Form:
In Year Application Form
Completed forms should be emailed directly to the school email address:
admin@beechgreen.gloucs.sch.uk
The school will consider the application in accordance with Gloucestershire County Council's published admission arrangements and will normally provide a written decision within 10 school days.
If You Are Offered a Place
If your application is successful, you will receive a written offer from the school. The letter will include:
- confirmation of the place offered,
- the date by which you must accept or decline the offer,
- any next steps required (such as completing admission forms or arranging a start date).
Please respond within the timeframe stated in your offer letter so that we can make the necessary arrangements for your child's admission.
If Your Application Is Unsuccessful
Beech Green Primary School is a community school and Gloucestershire County Council is the admission authority.
Applications are considered in accordance with Gloucestershire County Council's published admission arrangements. Where a place cannot be offered, parents and carers will receive a written decision explaining the reason for the refusal and information about their right to appeal.
Your Right to Appeal
If your child is refused a place, you have the legal right to appeal the decision to an Independent Appeal Panel.
The refusal letter will explain:
-
your right to appeal,
-
how to submit an appeal, and
-
where to obtain further information about the appeals process.
Appeals are independent of both the school and Gloucestershire County Council. The panel will consider both your case and the admission authority's case before reaching a decision.
School Admissions Code
All admission authorities must comply with the statutory School Admissions Code (2021).
